Blue black gold cake for Desmond

Desmond is turning 40. I remember in the past years how he used to collect his kids' birthday cakes. The whole family migrated to USA for a few years. Now they are in Perth for a visit.

I love decorating this cake. It's like painting on an empty canvas. The wife organises a surprised birthday party for him. She wants a cake with blue black & gold.

The gold leaf, paints & shimmers are probably the best touch. It lets me express myself.

The cake is Red Velvet cake with Vanilla Swiss Meringue Buttercream.
